Roadmap
This isn't a feature backlog — it's the story of how Vaapad got built, in order. It starts with one idea: put the founder's real Interactive Brokers book on the record, live, with the reasoning attached. Everything since has been making that idea trustworthy, then decision-useful, then provable, then portable — and now deep and reachable. Shipped items are checked; in-progress are open.
Concept → Trust → Decision-Quality → Proof → Distribution → Depth → Reach

Vaapad started as a public track record — a decade of trading the hard way, then a Substack where every call went out in the open. The terminal is that promise turned into architecture: the founder's real Interactive Brokers book, mirrored live, with the research attached. Radical transparency, in from the first commit.
- Live IBKR portfolio mirror
- Real-time Yahoo quote overlay
- Member auth (Magic Link + Google SSO)
- Core terminal (portfolio, analytics, allocation, risk)
- Sector allocation / heatmap / exchange charts
- Substack research migration
- Installable PWA from day one
A live book is only worth watching if every number on it holds up. Phase 1 hardened the foundation — honest data-state labels, deduplicated trades, and the operator tooling to keep the loop running without silent failures.
- Unified data freshness labels (LIVE, T-1, ESTIMATED, STALE)
- Trade deduplication hardening + anti-spam alert windows
- Dashboard loading resilience (non-blocking tab UX)
- Admin poller observability + manual run controls
- Dev/build cache isolation for stable local workflow
With the numbers trustworthy, the next question was whether a member could actually reason with them. Phase 2 turned raw data into decision material — research you can interrogate, every signal carrying its why, confidence and evidence.
- Research split: Company Brief + Live Intel
- Live Intel metadata: why-it-matters, confidence, priority, evidence
- Source attribution: Google News, Reddit, HotCopper, CEO.ca
- Per-symbol changed/freshness cues and catalyst/risk extraction
- Server-side intel cache + TTL for lower latency and cost
- Persisted intel snapshots for robust change tracking
- Field Notes — founder's long-form research publications
- Equity-history SSoT: permanent track record, no lifetime data cap
- IBKR session auto-reauth keepalive with competing-session guard
- Analytics rebuild: 4-tab Performance / Allocation / Risk / Data view
- WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility sprint — full terminal
The book was always public — but the proof was under-merchandised. This wave un-blurred and scored the closed trades, owned the drawdown instead of hiding it, published the math, and made the reconciled track record something you can carry off-site. The one artifact rivals can't fake, finally portable. All of it retrospective, descriptive, and disclaimer-backed — never forward advice.
- Public Call Ledger — un-blurred, filterable closed-trade book, scored (hit-rate, avg hold, win/loss streaks) and benchmarked vs SPY/GLD; open positions stay blurred for front-run protection
- Drawdown / underwater panel — the deepest-drawdown window plotted and owned, with the recovery path alongside it
- Monthly-returns heatmap — month-by-month reconciled returns at a glance, the bad months as honestly as the good
- Hedge-fund KPI strip with inline explainers — Sharpe / Sortino / Calmar / Volatility, each with a plain-language tooltip
- Interactive hero equity chart — one view-mode-switchable curve (cumulative / indexed / period-change), the duplicate curve removed
- “Verified vs IBKR Flex” badge — reconciled by trade-ID, append-only, hoverable on the KPI strip and equity curve
- Open-methodology page (/methodology) — the KPI formulas, the Flex reconciliation logic, and the LIVE / STALE / FALLBACK / SHADOW state machine, published
- Reconciled trade-log + NAV export — download the full append-only book and check the math yourself
- Content-provenance labels — every field note and intel item tagged Human / AI-assisted
- Embeddable + shareable track-record widget — an auto-updating equity-curve + KPI iframe and a PNG share card, the §32/LENA disclaimer baked in
A world-class book with almost no way in. This wave built the top-of-funnel Vaapad never had — a genuinely free brief, a way to follow the founder — turned the single book into something you can screen and explore, added the macro context behind every move, and made the terminal something you operate, not just read.
- Free “Live-Book Brief” tier — the monthly recap turned into a genuinely free lead-magnet and the primary site-wide CTA
- Follow-the-founder — free, no subscription; opt into new-call and closed-call notifications over the existing push / Telegram / email plumbing
- Pricing comparison + trust layer — a legible free-vs-member capability table with the reconciliation / §32 trust strip
- Single-book Discovery / Screener — a faceted filter over Vaapad's own field notes (tag, read-time, public-vs-member, date), not a market-wide screener
- Trade cockpit — a dense, sortable matrix of the whole book (weight / day% / since-entry / drawdown / thesis-freshness)
- Theme/category filter — the existing GOLD / REE / MACRO / JUNIOR-MINING / ROBOTICS tags surfaced as built-in category chips inside the Field Notes screener
- “On-my-radar” watchlist — the pre-position pipeline, on the record, hard-labelled “research notes, not recommendations”
- Book-scoped Macro & Catalysts desk (/macro) — a macro cockpit and catalyst calendar scoped to the book's sectors, plus a public-lite Live-Intel stream
- ⌘K command palette — jump to any position, note or view; the dashboard becomes a terminal you operate
- Email + staleness alerts — the alert rail now fires on non-trade events (prolonged STALE / FALLBACK) over email, not just Telegram
- Guided demo — a scripted walkthrough of the gated terminal for logged-out visitors, instead of only blurred teasers
- Community, on the record — call-your-shot polls (the founder is scored too), follow-a-thesis alerts, and a GitHub-style desk-activity heatmap
The wave proved the book and opened the doors. Now it goes deep — a permanent, linkable home for every position, charting that stands next to a pro terminal, discoverability for humans and AI alike, and the whole thing in a second language.
- Per-position permalink hubs — a durable URL per held name aggregating weight, thesis, conviction-history timeline, its slice of the Call Ledger and per-name news
- Charting depth — normalized benchmark comparison, an allocation treemap, and sector-rotation performance bars, all scoped to the book + public indices
- SEO & AI-discoverability — per-ticker and per-theme entry points, structured for search and for “ask an AI about Vaapad”
- Multilanguage (DE / EN) — a full internationalization port so the terminal reads natively in both
The ambitious end-state: put the numbers behind every thesis, give the book a visual verdict, open a moderated space for member views, and take the verified book off-domain — to video, and eventually to native apps. All scoped to the founder's own book and public benchmarks, and the highest-risk pieces gated on compliance sign-off.
- Per-position fundamental data layer — valuation, margins, earnings and estimates under each thesis; read-only data on owned names
- “Snowflake” factor scorecards — a per-holding radar (valuation vs founder fair-value, momentum, conviction, risk-contribution, thesis-freshness)
- Member narratives — a moderated space for subscriber theses on names off the book, hard-labelled “member view — not the Vaapad book, not advice”, gated on LENA sign-off
- Founder video channel — walkthroughs of the actual reconciled book and closed-trade post-mortems, the verified answer to self-reported research
- Native iOS + Android apps — push and desktop state-sync beyond the PWA, once the funnel and retention basics have landed
